VHS VIDEOTAPES SCANNED, COPIED & TRANSFERRED TO USB OR DVD
Slide to Digital is pleased to be able to now offer a VHS videotape scanning service.
Following many requests for including a service copying VHS videotape over the years, now you can get all your old VHS home movies and memories copied and saved to digital format! Those precious VHS videotapes will degrade over time and eventually become unusable, losing precious memories; preserving them digitally saves them forever and for generations to come.
All video transfers are a flat transfer. This means that the movies are transferred to a digital format without any enhancing or further processing. it is not really possible to improve VHS video quality beyond what it is.
Please do remind yourself that VHS video is a primitive format when compared to the luxury of modern blu-ray or 4k which is available today. Technology improves at a speedy rate these days, and it can easily be forgotten as to just how basic VHS image quality is!
Once copied, your videotape will be placed onto a USB flash drive as a digital mp4 movie. Slide to Digital can also transfer your precious VHS content to a DVD, but a USB is the modern, more efficient approach.

Slide to Digital is based in Chelmsford in Essex and can cater for all your VHS videotape scanning needs - although please do note that Betamax videotape scanning and copying is not currently an option.
Video copying and scanning is carried out in real time; so if your VHS last 240 minutes, that is how long it takes to transfer to digital format.
Once transferred and saved as a digital mp4 file, the empty space at the beginning and end can be trimmed, but there will be no attempts at enhancement or processing - unlike 35mm slides and negatives, there is little that can be done to improve VHS image quality, and often any attempts will result in an unsatisfactory over-sharpened 'processed' look.
IMPORTANT TERMS:
By agreeing to let Slide to Digital play and copy your VHS videotapes, you accept that in the unlikely event that the tape be in inferior condition and catch or spill or jam in the video playing machine while copying, that Slide to Digital cannot be held responsible for any subsequent unavoidable damage caused. While such occurrences are extremely rare, they can still happen.

- Remember, your VHS videotape will degrade over time and eventually become unwatchable - that's if you even still have a working video player! Get them copied and transferred to digital mp4 format and preserved forver for all the family.
